LIONNEL LIM 

1980     Fashion Designer/Merchandiser for local and regional manufacturers.

1986     Fashon Editor/Stylist for newspapers and various publications:  Shusse Publishing (MAN and HOT Nouveau magazines). As a Fashion Journalist, Mr Lim has conducted in-depth interviews with international designers like Geoffrey Beene, Romeo Gigli, Christian Lacroix, Karl Lagerfeld, Mitsuhiro Matsuda, Zandra Rhodes and Paul Smith.  He was also the former Fashion Editor to NewMan magazine and fashion & lifestyle writer for Streats newspapers.  He then contributed regularly to The Straits Times as Fashion Stylist and to Dare, L’Officiel Singapore, NewMan, Shape, Style and Urban magazines. 

1992     Creative Consultant: Scotts Shopping Centre and Lau Pa Sat. 

1994     Fashion Director: Takashimaya Department Store, where he headed and managed the Fashion Office, supervised market analysis and set budgets and trends for all the fashion and lifestyle departments. 

1996     Contributing Fashion Editor: FHM magazine till March 2002. 

Miscellaneous     Stylist/Art Director/Writer:  advertising campaigns for companies as diversed as: American Express, Byford, Hang Ten, Padini, Seed, Thomson and Valentino.  In 1992, Mr Lim has been a Contributing Editor to St James Press in London.  He also writes occasionally for Elle Singapore magazine and Straits Times newspapers.  Recently he contributed as a stylist for Marina Square’s 2009 “Fashion Revolution” 2-week event, and a fashion writer for Singtel’s new online shopping portal, www.insing.com.

1980     Graphic Designer: EMI Records.  Graduated from the London College of Printing with majors in Printing, Graphic Reproduction and Paper Merchanting.

1980     Lecturer: Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

1983     Editorial Writer/Production Executive: Diners Publishing, handling both SIGNATURE and WOMAN NOW magazines.

1990     Marketing Services Manager:  Marina Bay Golf & Country Club to head the Marketing Services Department with a portfolio that included public relations, advertising, promotions, marketing and membership recruitment. He was also involved with the launch of Austin Hills Country Club both in Singapore and Malaysia.

1993     Public Relations Consultant:  Clout Communications and Design and has since provided professional services for the following clients: Cartier, Hilton International Singapore, NeoStrata, Nido International, Shusse Publishing, Sotheby’s Singapore, The Substation, Tiffany & Co, Volvo and Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park/Singapore Technologies.

Miscellaneous     He also contributed to Streats newspapers as a fashion and lifestyle writer.
